Something New

As a Christian and a true believer in Christ. I will be welcoming a new experience, for the first time in 19 years of my life. Today on February the 17Th Lent season begins. Lent is a forty day period of repentance and soul-searching until Easter Sunday in April which is the 3rd. It's a time where people fast from things that they love to do or like to eat. Lent is mostly found in Presbyterian and Catholic churches. It does not matter what religion you are because I am Baptist. When I text my family today the first thing someone asked me was "Are you Catholic now?" My response was no, and I explained to them what I was doing, why I was doing it, and that my religion does not matter. Either way It go I am serving God in spite of me not being Catholic or Presbyterian. Some of my family members were surprised and anxious to know what it meant. I was pleased to share with them the new experience that's occurring in my life. My mom was delighted after I finished explaining to her what Lent actually menat. So as I begin this fourty day Journey, I ask that you joined me and encourage others to take up on this opportunity. Not for me but for Christ his self. Jesus is always doing things for us, it's time to do something for him. My question is: What will you give up for Christ? He gave up his Life For you!!

Former President of Africa

My Favorite Quote
*I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.*

He is a South African icon and represents what South Africa is capable of.He spent 27years imprisoned on Robben-Island for his political beliefs. In 1990 he was released and in 1994 he became the first black President democratically elected by all the people of South Africa. Nelson Mandela personifies peace and democracy.

Living in History

Black history month, hmmmmm..what can I say?
We are living in history from day to day
There was Harriet Tubman that help free the slaves
Freedom from the beatings that the whites gave
Martin Luther Jr., Spoke his speech on "He had a Dream"
He wanted us to walk hand and hand,
Not be judged by the color of our skin
He was also wanted Freedom, & Racism to end
Rosa parks sat in the back of the bus so we could rights,
We have a freedom of speech, and can eat wherever we like
The U.S have a black president...It was time for change
We couldn't live like this forever, some white people wanted things to be the same.
Maya Angelou best writer alive
It was her words of encouragement that help the African American Women Survive.
Malcom X,A civil rights leader
A man of God & a true believer
We are living in history day to day
It's Black History Month so I have no more to say

What Men Are Afraid Of

An African American woman is what I am. It's time for us to take a stand in what be believe. We are Strong, Independent, Virtuous with Pride, Justice, and Integrity. We are what some men are afraid of, and some may adore. So we shouldn't settle for anything lesser than we deserve. I know what I'm worth simply because I'm that African American woman.

Best Friend

What can I say
We stared at each other righ in the face
I looked at him and he looked at me
Then came a thought, No longer was it misery
A peck on the cheeks is what started it off
Then I thought it was done, but I guess not so soon
I felt like a man jumping over a moon
We began to kiss, what a wonderful feel it was to share a special moment with him.
His lips touched mine, and mine touched his
It was so mutual I didnt want it to end
But what I forgot to remind you that he's my best friend
I hope the relationship we share dont change
Especially when he's not my man
I'm wondering how far this friendship will go, and how long it will last
I know someday our feelings will began to change
But not right now we have a lot more to gain
He's a man I have always dreamed of
God sent this bestfriend to me like he sends angels doves
I can see myself being with him someday
I just pray by the time we both feel the same it wont be too late
As I lay in his arms I know there is hope some where in the future
Because I have this strength called faith
Not only is he that man of God but my best friend and man of my dreams.
